SHOES SPLIT!! 

Bass player EDU CHIRINOS left the band in August 2008 to focus on his experimental electronic project LAS RUINAS and his work as bass guitarist with VIOLET LADES.  OLLY and CAROLYN are currently looking for a new lineup and a new sound, and are hoping to start rehearsals in January 2009.

THE ELECTRIC SHOES lasted three and a half years, recorded one full-length album and four EPs, got two and a half reviews in national music magazines, were interviewed on local radio, picked up by an internet radio programme and played twenty five stonking gigs in Barcelona.

THE ELECTRIC SHOES began life as the brainchild of Olly and Carolyn in late 2004, after they had both had far too much to drink.  No talent or experience turned out to be no barrier to forming Barcelona's hardest-working power-pop-punk band.  The addition of Ally Heathcote on lead guitar and Peter Vahle on the bass saw The Shoes hurtle through seven gigs, an eleven track all-original-song demo and a temporary replacement bass player (Alabama Joe Moody) in their first year.  The Shoes demanded more than Pete and Ally could give, and their sad departure in November 2006 gave rise to a new, rawer, stripped-down look and sound.  Edu Chirinos joined Carolyn and Olly to give The Electric Shoes their distinctive brand of quirky, unpretentious and utterly engaging pop energy.
